WS 35th AVE JAM   |    BLOG UPDATES

This page is under construction.
WikiWiki means quick and easy... and that's what our beginners and More workshop is all about... so come join us in the fun.

The Beginners and More WikiWiki on 35th Ave. is open to the most basic of beginners, and to all those that think they are still a beginner, but are ready to do more.  Even if you don't know how to hold that ukulele -  no problem.  The WikiWiki on 35th is the place you want to be.

Our normal meet up in West Seattle is at the Highpoint Library or the Southwest Library, depending on the dates we can book, both are on 35th Ave SW just a few blocks apart.

Please read carefully the dates and location for each month. We will try to schedule 3 months ahead when possible.

June 25th 2017    4th Sunday at High Point Library
July 23rd 2017    4th Sunday at the High Point Library
August 27th 2017     4th Sunday at High Point Library.

NOTE: (Because of scheduling conflicts our normal dates have moved from the 3rd Sunday to the 4th Sunday, see above.)

High Point branch of the Seattle Public Library is located on 35th Ave SW and Raymond St. SW. Map

The Southwest Library is located further south on 35th Ave SW and SW Henderson St. Map

At each monthly workshop you will learn proven ways to start enjoying that ukulele of yours.  Each month you'll gain a little more confidence, and a little more excitement from this fabulous instrument we've all come to love.

All you'll need is your ukulele and the willingness to learn.  If you don't have a ukulele, we have a few loners available.  Each session there will be new handouts and instruction... new things to learn and play, like:
  • The chord families for the key of C, F, G, D.
  • How to easily move from one chord shape to another.
  • The Chromatic scale vs the Major scale.
  • How to play scales while learning your fretboard.
  • Strumming techniques. And much more.
  • We'll even explore playing melody... Wow! .
We'll also sing and play, that very first day.   We will use our beginner to intermediate Wiki songbook.  Which I will provide copies for the day's use.
